Angie says, “During research for new ideas, I have discovered the delights of ‘Altered Books’. Visiting the most amazing American websites, I have gathered enough information to give you 2 days worth of exciting collage and stitch. You’ll need an old book and lots of courage to muck it up!!”
Shelley Rhodes – Stitched Drawings
SORRY – THE SHELLEY RHODES WORKSHOP IS NOW FULLLY BOOKED!
Working from your own design source, you will create a mixed media piece of work. You will combine a variety of papers and fabrics to create a unique ground on which to ‘draw’. Lots of techniques will be introduced to encourage those who may be apprehensive about their drawing skills. You will work with a variety of media, including stitch. There will be an emphasis on looking, reviewing and re-working areas of your ‘drawing’ so that parts become very tactile. You may end up with one finished piece or a series of smaller samples.
Workshop places are limited and those interested in taking part are advised to make an early reservation. The booking form can be downloaded here (note – you will need to enter your 2011/2012 ‘EG’ password which can be found on the back of your membership card). Please make sure you have read the Workshop Payment & Cancellation Policy before booking. If you need any further information, please email Jackie Woolsey.
