We were formed in 1987, when the main Suffolk Branch was split into East and West. We continue to thrive, with over 70 members and will be celebrating our 25th birthday in 2012.
The branch meets on the second Wednesday of the month (except January and August) at Rushmere Village Hall, Humber Doucy Lane, Rushmere St. Andrew, Ipswich, Suffolk IP4 3PD between 19.30 and 21.30 for either practical sessions or lectures covering anything to do with textiles, whether it be history, world textiles or modern techniques. In addition we run several day workshops on Saturdays covering a wide range of subjects and with something to suit all abilities.
We have a library of equipment, books and DVDs for use by our members.
We run a talented and enthusiastic Young Embroiderers’ Group.
We are a very friendly group and welcome visitors who would like to meet us and sample what we have to offer. You don’t even have to know how to stitch to enjoy yourself with us, just be interested, want to learn more and share our love of textiles.
