We are a friendly group of embroiderers who meet once a month normally on the second Saturday of the month (except Aug) to chat, exchange ideas, and listen to a professional speaker on all things embroidery and textiles.
Our group was started over twenty years ago by Wendy Pidgeon and Patricia Hamlin. These ladies were and still are very passionate about all things to do with embroidery, and their enthusiasm has given our branch its special blend of traditional and contemporary character.
Don’t worry if you think you can’t stitch – many of our workshops are designed for complete beginners.
Do come along to our next Saturday branch meeting. The cost is £3.00 for members and £5 for visitors.
Visitors are welcome to our branch and we hope you will enjoy your visit. There will be a talk or some other activity, and you are invited to join in. Refreshments will be provided during the afternoon and you may visit our sales table.
The Embroiderers’ Guild is a national organisation with many events and activities around the country. Our branch is very lively, and you will see and hear many things going on around the room. If you are not sure of anything please ask, we are always happy to advise and assist.
You are invited to attend a total of 3 meetings (at £5 each) to see how you like it, after which you will be required to join the Guild if you wish to attend future meetings.
The benefits of membership include a twice yearly copy of Contact magazine, priority workshop participation, use of our branch library, competition entry, and participation in exhibitions and group projects.
